Spring Policy

Express Express Spring Program Policy Statement 2010

The Express Board of Directors has developed the following policy statement in order to clarify the organizations position concerning the spring program.

1. Development
It is the primary goal of the Spring Program to continue the development process over the spring months. That development may include league play along with skill development sessions or skill development sessions and tournament play, depending on the age level and the recommendation of the Hockey Director and the coaching staff.

2. Participation
Of secondary concern is the competitiveness of league play. Although our goal is to always have our teams play in the most competitive environment for there level, spring does not always offer an avenue to accomplish that goal. For this reason as well as our belief in developing skills, spring league play is secondary for the spring program but participation is a tool for development.

3. Fair Play
As always, we stress to play within the eligibility rules of any league we participate in. Sometimes these rules are significantly different than NIHL. Our focus again is based on participation and we will attempt to place all interested members on a team. We also stress that parental behavior must follow ZERO TOLERANCE at all times.

4. More Equal Ice Time
Although this is still travel hockey, spring coaches are encouraged to equal out the ice as much as possible.

With these goals in mind, Express reserves the right to place registered players on any team that it sees fit. If your player is interested in playing spring hockey and is focused on improving there skills, we highly recommend you support him or her. Regardless of which team they are placed on in the spring, congratulate them, and support them. Let up on the tension in spring, play hockey for what it is meant to be fun.

Registrants and participants permit the taking of photos and video of themselves and their children during Express Hockey activities for publication and use, as the Express Hockey and its event sponsors deem necessary and appropriate.

This year's format for spring will prove to be a greater tool for improving skills with the fun aspect of game play.

See you at the Rink,
The Express Board of Directors
